It’s that time again- back to school.
If you’re like us, you like to have a fresh start every semester. You may not love the smell of textbooks like we do, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the first few weeks of college before midterm madness sets in.
This is the point where some of you might say, “Oh, but Flashnotes, I don’t know how to prepare for the first day of class”.
First, we’re going to call you out on that BS. You’re in college now and have had plenty of time to perfect your first day of school- you’ve had at least 13 of them.
Second, how have you survived this long without being organized? It’s the key to success!
If you’re genuinely at a loss for how to organize your life- you’re in luck. We’ve compiled this great list of ways to get organized and stay organized throughout this semester.
- Clean out all that old stuff- Never going to take another history class again? Why keep those daily doodles?

- Buy binders or boxes to put your old stuff that you might need in the future.

- Clear off your desk for proper usage.

- Buy variety packs of highlighters, post-its, and folders. Color coding everything does not make you crazy- it makes you smart.
- Get a wall calendar and start using it. Before the semester even starts, write important dates in it- rent, bills, days off school, finals, midterms, etc.

- Get a day planner and do the exact same thing.
- Create folders on your computer’s desktop- one for each class.
- Get a dropbox or use your portable hard drive- you never know when you’ll need a back up.
- Create a running to-do list.
Trust us, it’s much better to start off the semester right. All of these things are super easy to do and will save you from that inevitable mid-semester stress attack.
